History and Performance
The Falco’s proven record and engineering puts it in a class by itself. It was designed by Stelio Frati, one
of the great aircraft designers of all time. It was certified as a production aircraft. It was built as a production aircraft and
has a history of over 40 years of use by pilots in Europe. Now, with many refinements, the Sequoia Falco is a modern, state-of-the-art
aircraft built from kits and flown by pilots all over the world.
N828TS was completed from kits and first flown in 1988. It was then
sold to Quentin H. Rench in 1995. Arthur Dominguez started flying N828TS for Mr. Rench to use for cross country business travel for
Racine Industries and has been the sole pilot of the aircraft for the last 9 years.
This aircraft has been constantly hangared and
meticulously maintained for corporate travel, flying between 250 to 380 hours per year. This is a proven aircraft that has been flown
in all types of weather throughout the year.
N828TS has received many updates throughout the years. The interior was redone
in 2000 and the exterior repainted in 2005 with leading edge tape applied to the wings and elevator to eliminate erosion from the
weather. Radios have been modernized to digital equipment with IFR approach certified GPS with GPSS steering for long flights. JPI
fuel flow meter was added for safety and greater fuel management capabilities. The LoPresti Boom Beam that was added in 2003 was a
saving grace for night operations. Its extremely bright beam lights up the landing threshold better than standard landing lights,
it is a great position indicator for traffic avoidance and the best of all, it has not needed to be changed in the last 5 years with
many more years to go on the bulb. See the attached article in the equipment page.
In recent years economy has been the order of the
day. N828TS will get you there at a fast 158 knots true at 10,000 feet at an amazing 24 statute miles per gallon! If economy does
not matter, 185 knots true at 4,000 feet will get you there faster than almost every other production single.
